JSQM welcomes apology to Baloch people:Dr Safdar Sarki

DADU, Dec 20: Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz General Secretary Dr Safdar Sarki has appreciated the government decision to apologise to the people of Balochistan.

At a press conference here on Saturday, he said that people of Sindh and Balochistan had been victimised by the successive governments.He said that the problems of small provinces could not be solved in assemblies as a big province was dominating the scene.

He said that two former prime ministers belonging to Sindh, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto, were killed and hundreds of Sindhi people were victimised during MRD of

1983, but no one apologised to the Sindhi people.

He said that real Sindhis have been made slaves as all their resources have been usurped by the outsiders.

Dr Sarki said that Nawab Akbar Bugti and Baalach Mari were killed as they demanded the rights of Baloch people, hence he had no hope of justice.

He said that the people of Sindh were living in abject poverty although Sindh contributed more than 50 per cent of revenue to the federal government but in return it was not getting its due share.

He said that people were committing suicides due to poverty but rulers were not taking action to eradicate poverty. He said that different diseases like hepatitis and TB were spreading among poor people but elected representatives were not paying attention to their problems.

He said that the JSQM was the only party which can secure rights for Sindhi people and appealed them to follow the message of G.M. Syed and Join JSQM.

PROTEST: A large number of shopkeepers of Dadu town staged a demonstration here on Saturday to protest against increasing crime in the city.

A leader of the shopkeepers Shafi Mohammad said that thieves had stolen gold ornaments and other valuables worth hundreds of thousands of rupees from 15 houses and shops by breaking locks in two days.

He alleged that police was not taking action against the thieves.
